Second Chemical and Biological Engineering High School Competition

OBJECTIVES
The Challenge
At this informative and engaging competition, students will:
- explore more about chemical and biological engineering
- learn about practical skills in chemical and biological engineering
- engage in hands-on experimental activities on water treatment
- work collaboratively in teams
- interact with students from other schools
- enjoy an unforgettable campus experience at AUS
In this competition, students are required to design and construct a small-scale packed-bed water treatment setup that is able to filter suspended materials from simulated wastewater. Students must utilize natural, recyclable and/or ordinary solid material of their own choice to create the packed bed. The setup must be able to filter one liter of wastewater containing 10g of chalk/calcium carbonate.
How to Participate
Please complete this form to register for the competition.
Teams are limited to a maximum of four students per group from the same school. Multiple groups from the same school are allowed.
Registration Deadline: Friday, October 20, 2023
Competition rules and judging criteria will be announced after the registration deadline is closed.
Cost: Free of charge. We have a limited capacity and teams will be selected based on the statement of interest.
