Join us for a day of collaboration, innovation, and discovery as companies share their research and project topics and AUS innovators propose creative solutions.

This event is organized by the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah in partnership with Sheraa | Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center.

This event offers a unique platform for companies to share their research and project topics and collaborate with innovative minds to develop creative solutions. Open innovation focuses on leveraging innovative ideas from any source by tapping into the skills, expertise, and creativity that exist beyond an organization's boundaries. This approach has become widespread across various industries, including major multinational companies.

Submit your Solution

Participation Rules

The winning and runner-up teams will receive monetary prizes and internships with Nokia.

Deadline for Submissions: All entries for the Nokia research and project topics must be received by 11:59 pm (UAE Time) on April 7, 2025.
Late Entries: Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.
Limit on Submissions (Maximum of 2): If a Solver submits multiple entries, only the last two submissions will be evaluated, while any additional ones will be discarded before assessment.
Submission Format and Attachments: The evaluation team will primarily assess the information provided in the submission form, with the attachments serving as supplementary material. Submissions that rely solely on attachments will receive less attention.
Evaluation Process and Notifications: Following the submission deadline, the winning solution(s) which will be announced during the event on April 15, 2025.
AI-Generated Submissions: Fully AI-generated submissions are not of interest and will not be considered.

Key sessions of the event include a founder talk on a successful journey of an entrepreneur and AUS alumnus, a dynamic panel discussion on fostering innovation, startup exhibitions, and networking opportunities. Don't miss the chance to compete for a total of 5,000 AED of monetary awards by addressing specific research and project topics presented during the event.

10:00 am - 10:15 am - Welcome and Opening Remarks
Hear from the AUS leadership team and Sheraa representatives.

10:15 am - 10:45 am - Founder Talk
Inspiring insights from a successful journey of an entrepreneur and AUS alumnus.

10:45 am - 11:30 am - Panel Discussion
Dynamic conversation exploring fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and success stories.

11:30 am - 12:15 pm - Research and Project Topics Videos and Awards Announcement
Short research and project topics videos, awards ceremony, and recognition.

12:15 pm - 1:00 pm - Booth Exhibition for Startups
Showcase of startups founded by AUS alumni sharing their entrepreneurial journeys.

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm - Lunch and Networking
Wrap up the day with conversations and connections over lunch.
