Join us for a day of collaboration, innovation and discovery as companies share their research and project topics and AUS innovators propose creative solutions.

This event is organized by the College of Engineering at AmericanUniversity of Sharjah in partnership with Sheraa | Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center and Sharjah Research Technology & Innovation Park.

The Engineering Open Innovation Day brings together students, faculty, industry, and entrepreneurs for a dynamic day of ideas and collaboration. The program features an engaging panel discussion with industry leaders, startup pitch sessions showcasing student innovation, recognition of the Most Innovative CEN Student Club, and a WakaTech exhibition highlighting emerging startups led by AUS alumni. The event celebrates creativity, entrepreneurship, and real-world impact across engineering disciplines.

Why participate

CEN 2

Engage with industry leaders, showcase your innovative ideas, andcompete for monetary awards. Participants will also have the opportunity to wina complimentary license at SPARK, providing access to valuable innovation andstartup resources, along with free technical support from the SOILAB team tohelp develop and refine their projects.

Registration

Key sessions of the event include a dynamic panel discussion on fostering innovation, startup exhibitions, an inspiring founder talk highlighting the entrepreneurial journey of a successful AUS alumnus, and dedicated networking opportunities. The program also features recognition of outstanding student initiatives, including startup pitching teams and the Most Innovative CEN Student Club. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for monetary awards, as well as receive a complimentary SPARK license and benefit from free technical support provided by the SOILAB team by addressing selected research and project challenges presented during the event.

Event Schedule

9:30 am - 10:00 am – Breakfast, Networking, and Poster Presentation
Engage and connect with fellow innovators before diving into the eventsessions. Vote for the CEN Most Innovative Club.

10:00 am - 10:20 am - Welcome and Opening Remarks
Hear from the AUS leadership team, Sheraa and SPARK representatives.

10:20 am - 11:00 am - Panel Discussion
Dynamic conversation exploring fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and success stories.

11:00 am - 11:30 am – CEN Most Innovative Club: Presentations andAwards Announcement

Student club presentations showcasing innovative initiatives, followed by the announcement of the CEN Most Innovative Club awards.

11:30 am - 12:15 pm – Startup Ideas Pitching “Powered by Sheraa”
Student teams pitch their startup ideas to a judging panel to recognize high-potential startup concepts.

12:15 pm - 12:45 pm – WakaTech Booth Exhibition 
Showcase of a startup founded by AUS alumni sharing their entrepreneurial journeys.

12:45 pm - 2:00 pm - Lunch and Networking
Wrap up the day with conversations and connections over lunch.
