Charge your future with a
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
at American University of Sharjah
Master your engineering skills.
With the rapid change in technology, the demand for more specialized and technical experts in the field of mechanical engineering is required. The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) is a dynamic, multidisciplinary program that will prepare you for an advanced career or doctoral studies in the rapidly developing field of mechanical engineering.
Because tomorrow matters.
Where will the AUS MSME take you ?

If you are looking to advance your career in areas of thermal and green energy systems, fluid systems or solid mechanics, then the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering is the right program for you. Our program enhances the technical skills and expands the knowledge and know-how of mechanical engineers to enable them to further their career and drive the profession forward.
With a heavy focus on research, students get the opportunity to work on ground-breaking research projects with both local and global impact.
Some of the research areas students contribute to are :

Take advantage of flexible study options
AUS understands that many of its graduate students have competing demands on their time, with busy careers and personal responsibilities. Flexible learning options are therefore available, including part-time study arrangements and evening and weekend classes.
Benefit from excellent research facilities
CEN students benefit from AUS' new Engineering and Sciences Building, equipped with over 60 laboratories and beautiful break-out spaces. Students can also involve themselves in the cutting-edge research of engineering faculty, many of whom are leading groundbreaking research.
Learn about assistantship opportunities
We offer assistantships and work-study opportunities for graduate students to help them finance their education. Graduate students, regardless of race, gender, religion or national origin, are encouraged to apply for these opportunities. Click here to learn more.
As a PhD applicant, your research experience is arguably the most important
parameter. One unique aspect of my experience as a master’s student in the
Department of Mechanical Engineering at AUS was how the program helped
me develop and expend my research experience, uniquely tailored to my
needs and interests.
This is because the program was heavily research based with almost one third
of the credits exclusively awarded for your research activities and thesis.
