Strength in diversity
Around 346 international faculty are employed across the College of Architecture, Art and Design, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, School of Business Administration and Achievement Academy.
Overall, they represent more than 60 nationalities.
Because of this, AUS is ranked #1 for having the highest ratio of international faculty compared to other universities in the Arab region (QS Arab Region University Rankings, 2023).

From student to Associate Dean
Starting his AUS journey as a student of architecture in our College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD), Faysal Tabbarah returned to AUS in 2012 as a faculty member, winning international awards for creating a curriculum that addresses design challenges specific to the Middle East.
Appointed Associate Dean of CAAD in 2021, Faysal is also a regionally acclaimed designer, taking the lead as curator of the National Pavilion UAE for the 18th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia in 2023. Read more.
AUSer-turned-Lab Instructor
Salsabeel Shapsough first entered AUS as an undergraduate student in the College of Engineering. After graduation, she stayed on to complete her Master of Science in Computer Engineering in 2017 and has been working at the university as a Lab Instructor ever since.

25 Years of Service
Professor of Finance Dr. Osamah AlKhazali is our longest-serving faculty member, joining the School of Business and Management (since renamed to School of Business Administration) in 1997.
