AUS Silver Jubilee Campus Tour
College of Arts and Sciences:
Performing Arts Building
As the first university in the UAE to offer studies in performing arts, AUS provides students from any AUS major the opportunity to explore personal creativity in the areas of singing, piano, choir, Arabic music, acting, costume and scenic design, stage management, and playwriting.
Did you know?
The Performing Arts Building was the original home of the School of Business Administration—or School of Business and Management (SBM), as it was called then. Before that, this building was the location of the AUS library.

Quincy Jones visits AUS
Over the years, we've had the privilege of hosting some outstanding performers. Among them was legendary American music producer Quincy Jones, who visited AUS in 2013. Winner of 27 Grammy awards, Jones impressed the AUS community with stories about his incredible career working with other music greats such as Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Marlon Brando and Michael Jackson.
When Mr. Jones was asked about the importance of music in the promotion of world peace, he said:
"Music brings people together and is number one in promoting world peace. We all speak the same language; the language of music. It's the same all over the world. The last thing that will be left on the planet will be music and water. You just can't survive without either."

A Saudi Opera Star is Born
Proud AUSer Sawsan Al Bahiti is Saudi Arabia's first opera singer. She began her journey into a musical career as a member of the choir in the Performing Arts Program at AUS where her mentors saw her potential. More than a decade later, Sawsan is a certified voice coach and is fulfilling her dream as a professional singer.
You can read more about Sawsan in Harper's Bazaar Arabia.
Little Shop of Horrors: Returning May 2023
In celebration of our Silver Jubilee, Professor Tassa will direct a new cast of current AUS students in a reprise of Little Shop of Horrors for four nights only from Tuesday, May 2 to Friday, May 5, 2023.
