School of Business Administration: Interactive Trading Floor
Welcome to the School of Business Administration and our fully equipped Interactive Trading Floor (ITF).
The ITF was inaugurated in January 2016 and is the first of its kind in the MENA region, providing students and faculty access to real-time financial markets and micro-economic data via 24 Bloomberg terminals.
The facility is a technologically advanced 24-seat learning environment designed to be the exact duplication of the trading floor found in a typical Wall Street or Dubai International Financial Centre investment firm, including the same live feeds, industry software and analytical tools.
The main purpose of the ITF is to bridge the gap between theory and practice so students can prepare for the challenges they will face in the workplace. Integrated assignments, simulations, practical cases and trading competitions are used to generate interest and promote deeper learning where users must adapt conceptual knowledge to the framework and limitations imposed by real-world data.
The ITF is vital to our mission as a business school as it is intended to be the leading source of knowledge about business in the MENA region and a resource for students and faculty.
