Dr. Mohamed El-Tarhuni is Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Studies at American University of Sharjah, and a Professor of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering.
As we celebrate our Silver Jubilee this year, I am delighted to share with you the very first newsletter from American University of Sharjah’s (AUS) Office of Research and Graduate Studies (ORGS).
We will be bringing you this newsletter each semester so that you can stay abreast of the latest ORGS developments at AUS, including the novel and innovative research projects and scholarly activity taking place among the university’s faculty and students.
I have the pleasure of leading ORGS and seeing first-hand the important work taking place within the parameters of the office. ORGS is responsible for conducting all day-to-day operations at the university related to research, technology transfer and graduate studies. We also provide support and guidance to faculty engaging in research and for students studying at the master’s or PhD level.
Our faculty and students are very active in sponsored research programs arising out of internal faculty research grant programs and projects that are funded by both industry and public organizations. We trust that you will enjoy learning about some of this work coming out of AUS and the impact that it is having at a regional and international level.
